CARE TEAM: Meals for the Woods

Posted by Care Team on 04/23/2012

“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it full well.” Proverbs 139: 13-14

We are so excited to be celebrating the arrival of Adler Bennett Wood, son of Elliott and Cherry Wood and brother to Lofton.  Adler was born April 18 at 8:29 am weighting in at a healthy 6 lbs 15 oz.   As a family at Ethos, it is our Christian calling to love, encourage, and support the Woods as they begin the journey of a family of four.  I am asking you to pour out your hearts in prayers of thanksgiving for this beautiful new baby and prayers of petition for energy, wisdom, and strength for the sometimes trying adventure of being parents.  You can also help out by providing meals for them as they spend time enjoying life with their little bundle of joy.  A calendar has been set up to allow convenient online signups. You can find it here.  Click on a date to select it.  Enter your information into the appropriate blanks and you will secure the date.  If you have any difficulties just contact me. If the spaces are full, you are welcome to sign up to bring a freezer meal that the Woods can heat up on a future date.  Please email myself or Cherry (cherryw@gmail.com) to set up a time to do so.

Thank you so much for loving on this beautiful family!  It is truly God’s calling for His church and I am so proud to be apart of a church who lives out His love.

Out of Hibernation

Hello every one. Syd and I are officially back from vacation which means I will begin updating the blog once again. I decided that as a part of my vacation I needed to take a break from all things work related including m phone, email, and this blog. It was wonderful, but I’m glad to be back. I hope you all had a great holiday season. I will start posting again tomorrow.

If you think it

Posted by Dave Clayton on 12/11/2008

One of my favorite leaders, Craig Groeschel recently said, “If you think something good, say it.”  Craig was talking within the context of marriage, encouraging spouses to speak encouraging words over one another. It’s a phenomenal principal for marriage, and really for every other relationship in life.

What if we challenged one another to practice this: “If you think something encouraging…say it!” Read the rest of this entry »

Siesta

Hey guys, I won’t be posting for a couple of days, and hopefully you won’t be on your computers much either. Make sure you take the next few days to slow down, get away from email, hang out with family, catch up with old friends, and just soak in the holidays. I hope you eat lots of turkey, fall asleep on the couch watching football, and enjoy your time with loved ones. Love you guys, and I will be back on here again some time this weekend. Later. – Dave

Thanksgiving Warmup

Posted by Dave Clayton on 11/25/2008

I stumbled across this challenge and thought I would post it here. In honor of Thanksgiving, I thought it would be fun if we tried this.

1.    Pick someone in your life (the first person who comes to mind is probably the correct choice) who has blessed you-whether they know it or not. Read the rest of this entry »
